Before You Venture Forth into the Unknown
You likely groan when you read or hear the word but Brexit will likely have an impact on traveling around Europe in the near (or not so near) future. Although there is a lot of uncertainty as to what travelling around Europe will look like when the UK leaves the European Union, there are some precautions that you may need to take in the future. As the rules stand currently, you will be able to travel with your caravan in tow as long as you have a valid UK driving license (and relevant license to tow your caravan.) It’s also recommended to have a European driving kit as some countries require additional objects in your car by law.
There’s a very useful guide on driving in Europe by the AA which you can access via the link. This should let you know about everything that you may need or need to know when travelling to Europe. In regards to Brexit, you may want to consider purchasing an International Driving Permit and Insurance Green Card but as it currently stands when writing this blog post, this is not currently compulsory. It’s important to bear in mind however that the Government recommends spending slightly extra on this to keep you safe rather than sorry.
So take a look at our list below. There is no order as to which countries are best and each will cater to your personal preferences. If you have visited any of these countries with your touring caravan or want to find out more about travelling with your touring caravan then let us know today!
